Alesium is a Limassol-based startup lab, founded in 2008. We’re building a fintech project. A bug here costs real money.

How we work

We work in Shape Up–style cycles. You get a well-shaped problem, work on it on your own for one or two weeks, then show a working result. No daily stand-ups and no Jira: progress is visible in the code and in the AI agents’ work.

You’ll work directly with the founders in a small team. As we grow, you’ll help hire and lead the engineering team.

Stack

TypeScript end to end: Node (NestJS, Fastify), React, PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker. Rust experience is a plus: we may write performance-critical parts in Rust later.

You’ll fit if you

• Build with AI coding agents (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor) every day: you direct them, review their code and own the result.
• Think like a researcher: you test ideas quickly with small experiments and stay open about the solution.
• Change course easily: a working version today beats a perfect design next month, and you calmly drop a plan when a better one appears.
• Want to own what you build: design it, ship it and run it in production.
• Know TypeScript well on both backend and frontend, and understand what happens under the hood.
• Have shipped systems where a bug costs real money: fintech, payments, banking, e-commerce or another high-load product.

What we offer

• €65,000–95,000 gross per year. We agree on your level together after the working session. We never ask about your current or past salary.
• Health insurance, work permit and legal support. If your permit is tied to your employer, we’ll help with the transfer: we cover the fees and paperwork and time the switch around your notice period.
• Hybrid in Limassol, 2–3 days a week in the office. You need to live in Cyprus or be ready to move here.
• The AI tools and hardware you need, paid by us.

Languages

Our working language is English. Russian and Ukrainian are welcome.

How we hire

1. Apply through the form. Send your CV or LinkedIn and a few lines about yourself. Tell us about one thing you shipped with AI agents, and one plan you dropped because a better one came along. A person reads every application, and a person makes every decision. We reply within 5 working days.
2. A 30-minute intro call: the product, the company, you.
3. A working session of about 2 hours with the engineer you’ll build the product with. Use your usual AI tools: we want to see how you actually work.
